Privacy
No cookies. No ad trackers. Only what you give us.
This policy covers ironbuffalostudios.com, the studio hub. Each game site has its own page for its app and, where a game is sold direct, for purchases.
Who is responsible
Iron Buffalo Studios, Houston, Texas, a one-person studio (“we”). Privacy contact: bfreitas@ironbuffalostudios.com. Postal address: to be published.
Visiting the site
- No cookies. The site sets no cookies and shows no ads.
- Our own visit counts. We count visits with Matomo, run on our own server, configured without cookies and honoring your browser's Do Not Track setting. It records the page, the time, a coarse location from a shortened IP address, your browser and screen size, and which buttons were used (for example “Join the playtest”). It never leaves our server and is not shared with anyone.
- Server logs. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time, browser) for security and to find faults. They are rotated and deleted within a few weeks.
Launch mail, playtests and press lists
When you sign up on one of our sites, we store:
- your e-mail address, the game and list you chose (launch mail, playtest, press or newsletter), and the name or platform you typed if you typed one;
- when you agreed (the consent box), which page the form was on and, if present, the campaign tags in the link you arrived by;
- a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser type, kept to stop abuse of the form; not the address itself;
- a record of the mails we sent you (confirmation, unsubscribe) with their time.
Double opt-in. After you sign up we send one e-mail with a confirmation link. Nothing else is sent until you click it; an unconfirmed address is kept for 90 days and then deleted.
Unsubscribe. Every mail carries a one-click unsubscribe link (and the List-Unsubscribe header your mail app may show). You are off the list the moment it is used.
Deletion on request. Write to bfreitas@ironbuffalostudios.com from the address in question and we delete it, and everything stored with it, within 30 days. You can also ask for a copy of what we hold.
We never sell or rent the list. The addresses live in our own database on our own server, backed up nightly; the backups are deleted on the same schedule as the data.
Writing to us
Messages sent through the support form are stored (name if given, e-mail, topic, message, time, a hash of the IP address) and mailed to the studio mailbox so a person can answer. We keep them as long as the matter is open and for up to a year after, then delete them.
Buying a game direct
Where a game is sold directly on its site, our reseller Paddle.com is the merchant of record and handles payment. That game's privacy page describes what we and Paddle keep about an order.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use, by writing to the address above. If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes we update this page and note the date here.
